Strategic partnership in the South Western Baltic Sea Transregional Area
Inventing New Geography


The starting point for the STRING co-operation was an INTERREG-project, which started in January 1999 and was supported by the EU until June 2001 with 0,7 Mio. Euro from the INTERREG IIC Baltic Sea Area Programme. The total budget of this project was 1,3 Mio. Euro.

In this first phase of the STRING partnership an agreed development concept for the South Western Baltic Sea region was prepared with a concrete strategy and action plan which based on the three pillars:

innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability.
