Welcome to New Bridges in the South Western Baltic Sea - the STRING Region

The bridges of Öresund and Fehmarn Belt will strengthen the axis of growth in the STRING region (Southwestern Baltic Sea Transregional Area Implementing New Geography). There is a great chance for prosperity, employment and sustainable development as well as for cultural exchanges, scientific and technological cooperation. The development will have a positive impact not only on the whole South Western Baltic Sea Region but the whole Northern Europe.
 
The successful cooperation links Region Skåne with the two Danish regions Zealand and Capital Region (Hovedstaden), and Land Schleswig-Holstein and Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Over the years, this cooperation started to work closely together with other initiatives like the Öresund Committee and with the newly established Fehmarn Belt Committee and the Fehmarn Belt Business Council.
